National recognition for learning in practice

Great news: KMWE Precision is one of three nominees for Best Work Placement Company 2026 in the Technology and Built Environment sector.

The nomination recognises everyone at KMWE who guides students, shares knowledge and helps future professionals develop through hands-on experience.

Learning a trade on the work floor

At KMWE, students gain practical experience from day one. They learn from experienced colleagues, contribute to real technical projects and gradually take on more responsibility.

This helps them develop into skilled professionals in areas such as machining, mechatronics, sheet metalworking and welding. These are precisely the skills that the high-tech manufacturing industry needs.

Ron van der Reest, Learning & Development Officer at KMWE, explains:

“We believe it is important for students to learn through practical experience at KMWE. This is how we develop the skilled professionals our industry needs.”

A nomination that matters

Brainport Industries College nominated KMWE, with the support of Summa Techniek.

SBB selected three work placement companies in each sector. The nominees stand out through the quality of their learning environment and the guidance they provide to vocational students.

In the Technology and Built Environment sector, KMWE is nominated alongside Bronkhorst High-Tech and SDR Elektrotechniek.

We congratulate both companies and wish them every success.

Competing for the sector title

On 7 September, KMWE will welcome the SBB expert jury. During the visit, our colleagues and students will show how hands-on learning works at KMWE.

The winner receives the title of Best Work Placement Company in the Technology and Built Environment sector and advances to the national final. SBB will announce the Best Work Placement Company in the Netherlands on 16 November 2026.

Investing in tomorrow’s skilled professionals

This nomination highlights the importance of expert guidance, personal attention and close cooperation with technical education partners.

Students learn a trade, while KMWE invests in the people who move technology forward.
