Successful collaboration: KMWE, SRBA, and ABN Cleanroom Technology
A few months ago, KMWE and its subsidiary ATM Oirschot entered into an agreement to design and construct a new ISO7 and ISO6 cleanroom at their 3D and repair facility on the Brainport Industries Campus. This ambitious project was undertaken in partnership with SRBA Controlled Environment and ABN Cleanroom Technology. KMWE is now proud to announce the successful completion of the state-of-the-art cleanroom, thanks to the dedication and collaboration between SRBA Group and ABN Cleanroom Technology.
Project overview
KMWE, SRBA, and ABN Cleanroom Technology have successfully completed a cutting-edge cleanroom project at the Brainport Industries Campus, delivering a facility that integrates sustainability and flexibility into its design. The cleanroom, classified under ISO7 and ISO6 standards, is equipped with several innovative features:
- Sustainability and energy efficiency: The cleanroom incorporates the patented VIX concept, achieving energy savings of up to 60% compared to conventional designs. This feature aligns with KMWE’s commitment to sustainable operations and the circular economy.
- Industry 4.0 compliance: An advanced AI data analytics feature is included, ensuring that the cleanroom is fully equipped for Industry 4.0 standards, which enhances manufacturing processes.
- Modular design: The facility employs a modular SRBA wall and ceiling system, providing flexibility for future upgrades. This design choice supports ABN’s productised cleanroom approach, making the space adaptable to changing requirements.
- Design-for-Circularity approach: The cleanroom was developed with a focus on circular design principles, emphasising resource efficiency and reducing waste.
Our reflections
Jochem Langendonk (Director KMWE Additive & Reuse) noted that the project marks a significant step toward the company’s circular economy goals, with the support of ATM Oirschot and partners SRBA and ABN proving invaluable in meeting project deadlines and budgets. He highlighted the project as an example of strong collaboration, especially during challenging times.
Daniël Akkers (Director ATM) expressed that the additional cleanroom will greatly expand the company’s cleaning capacity at the new facility, serving both new builds and re-used parts. He also pointed out the installation of additional equipment to support grade 2 cleaning capabilities for the semiconductor industry.
